In-House - Team Order - Point System - Rules - Current Points
Team Houses - (Yahara, Isaka, Kawasaki & Abe)
Each student has been allocated to a team named after famous Japanese Instructors, which will
consist of a captain, vice captain and an adult student member to give support and guidance.
These four houses have been organised to promote team moral, spirit and develop team work at all
ages and grade.

Each team captain will elect a student within their own team each month – “team member of the month”. Captains will observe how their team member is working within the team, their character and performance.

The Sensei’s will choose a “student of the month”, which will include all grades. Instructors
will be observing the student’s attitude, integrity and character building.

The Team shield will be awarded to the team with the highest amount of points each
December. The captain of the team who wins the yearly shield, will award this to their selected team member of the year.

The challengers set will assist students with their learning theory in karate and towards their basic techniques. Good team work, commitment and communication are needed to ensure a competitive spirit is developed among each house.

Team captains are to encourage student participation in local and national events and pass on any relevant details regarding courses and competitions.

Rules

The Sensei‘s have overall control in point allocation. Extra points can be awarded when the sensei’s feel it necessary to do so by taking into account a student's attitude, behaviour, spirit and commitment

Try to develop a competitive attitude within the team.

Any team seen or attempting to cheat will be penalised.

Once allocated to a house you are not permitted to pass any information or assist other houses – this will be seen as cheating.

All new students will be allocated to one of the four groups after two weeks. It will be up to the captain / vice captain to make them feel welcome, assist with the dojo rules and etiquette

One challenge will be set either by the Sensei’s or one team each month.
(Challenges can be practised or prepared every Tuesday night between 5.45 – 6.15pm, using the small hall that has been specially hired)

The set challenges will be competed during an allocated lesson on Tuesday night.

Parents of the students can assist to support the houses, and when challenges set include parent participation.
